Thorncliffe Place is a well renowned family owned facility run by
the Francis family. The Francis family has been well respected in
the community for over fifty years. Starting with Lloyd Francis
the politician and businessman who was once a speaker of the House
of Commons. His son, Donald, was lucky enough to meet his wife,
Helene, at one of Lloyds political functions.
Donald and Helene Francis built Thorncliffe Place 18 years ago
with a vision of providing seniors with the lifestyle that they
deserved. Helene, who is a registered practical nurse, alongside
her husband, Donald the experienced property manager took a big
risk in building Thorncliffe Place but it paid off. Now they are
one of the main pioneers of the retirement community in Ottawa.
18 years and many renovations later, Thorncliffe Place is stronger
than ever. The Fancis’s family pride and care are the driving
forces behind its success. More than 80% of new residents are found
through word of mouth. They’ve heard how comfortable and secure
the building itself is and how much the staff cares about the well
being of the residents.
Now Michael Francis (B.G.S.) is the acting manager of the facility.
He is carrying on the strong Francis family traditions that have
lead to the trust and success in the Ottawa community.
